Anup Kumar Mohapatra is the Treasurer of Gram Vikas Society. He has been a member since July 2016.
He is a businessman based in Bhubaneswar. Alongside his business career, he has been involved in philanthropic and community work, taking on leadership roles within communities to address matters of public interest and social wellbeing.
After the 1999 super cyclone, he and a group of close friends set up a fund to support meritorious students from Odisha’s coastal villages whose families had been affected by the cyclone. These students were living in hostels in cities away from home. The fund provided immediate financial assistance and, in some cases, longer-term support for their education.
He worked with college and university authorities to identify students, particularly girls, at risk of dropping out. He funded their education, in some cases over an extended period.
He has since retired from active business. He now spends his time on social service work.
